A Slice of Paradise
This four bedroom cottage is the perfect getaway for couples and families alike. Boasting beautiful bright rooms and tuck away nooks, it is easy to get lost and relax. Looking for fun, try your hand at ping pong. Do you play the piano? The baby grand might be to your liking. If you are coming to the island to relax, that will be easy on the porches and patios.
The Sunshine Cottage is located near all the fun that St. Simons Island (SSI) has to offer. If you want to go out, the island has just about anything your heart desires, but if a nice quiet meal at home is more to your liking, this property has a full kitchen with all the tools any cook needs.

Welcome to Sunshine Cottage!
My husband I raised our four children here and spent 30 of the happiest years of our lives on St. Simons Island. We hope you feel comfortable and at home. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay or future stay even better.
Our home reflects our interests. We’re both history majors, so we have lots of history books for you to enjoy. I was an English and Spanish teacher at St. Simons Elementary, Glynn Middle, and Needwood Middle schools. You'll find a variety of books in both these languages. Greg practiced law here for 25 years as an assistant district attorney and defense attorney.
We love games, and we hope you take time to be a kid again and enjoy playing ping pong, air hockey, and pool in our blue game room. Outside we have ladder ball, tether ball, and a disc golf net. Music is a big part of our lives; we hope you enjoy the piano and other fun instruments.
The beaches are beautiful. Gould’s Inlet offers the most spectacular panoramic view of the opening between St. Simons East Beach and the south tip of Sea Island, the Atlantic Ocean, sand dunes, and elegant local cottages. East Beach has ample parking, a Maritime Museum, volleyball net, bathing facilities, recycling center, easy access ramp to the beach, and sailboat storage. Massengale Park and Beach has a favorite kids park, parking, and shortest distance access to the beach. We urge you to take a walk on the beaches to witness famous spectacular sunrises.
Some of our favorite spots include Mallery Park, located near Frosty’s Restaurant down from The Village, which has an intricate playground, tennis and pickleball courts, soccer and baseball fields. Fort Frederica on the north end of the island, founded in 1733 by James Oglethorpe, has ruins of a bygone era that are incredible to witness. You won’t want to miss a trip to the Lighthouse and Keeper’s Dwelling, which is one of only five remaining and functioning lighthouses in Georgia. The Pier and Village on the south end (near the lighthouse) have fishing, restaurants, stores, a public pool, mini golf, live play theater, and Neptune Park which displays centuries old live oak trees and a playground.
Our favorite restaurants include Bennie’s Red Barn, Mullet Bay, Palmer’s, Sal’s Pizza, Southern Soul BBQ, Beachcombers, and Ember. Let us know if you have a favorite!
Whether you’re here for work or vacation, please find time to experience the wonderful opportunities this island has to offer. Enjoy!! - Stephanie
